Summer 2016 Wrap Up

DSC_0208It’s been one week since camp ended and we are still relishing in the awesomeness that was summer 2016. Campers at Ahmek and Wapomeo never cease to amaze us with their strength on canoe trips, interesting stories, and their passion for camp activities.

We had a record number of long trips this summer, with 5 Fifty Days, 2 Biscos, and 5 Queticos. Not to mention, 10 Kipawas and a 22-Day Temagami, 3 Killarneys, 4 Barron Rivers, 7 Temagamis and a ton of Algonquin park trips. In total, we sent out 143 canoe trips throughout the summer – wow!! The TSC community is home to a truly impressive and adventurous group of people.

In camp, activities were always on the go with campers striking a pose at yoga on the dock, DSC_0873climbing to the top of the rock wall at high ropes, perfecting the j stroke at canoeing, going for a trail ride at riding and more. In addition to our regular activities, events such as Wapstock and Big Event took the summer to the next level, with celebrity guest stars, a bouncy castle and snow cones.

Although the summer has come to an end, the camp has not shut down yet! Right now we have approximately 100 families enjoying camp life on Canoe Lake. September camp is a great time for families to experience camp together, and for campers to show their parents what they love about TSC. We’ve had evening activities such as a Bantam Beach BBQ and Casino Night and will be heading up to council ring tonight. Next up we have the Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund auction which will raise money to send kids to camp!

DSC_0742We want to extend our thanks to all our campers and staff for a great summer. Camp would be nothing without you! We are already counting down the days until summer 2017. Don’t forget to post camp photos on Facebook and Instagram and make sure to tag @taylorstattencamps. We love seeing them and hey, maybe you’ll get a repost! DSC_0214
