“Ahmek challenges campers and staff to live in harmony with nature and with each other”

As members of the Canoe Lake community, campers must respect their peers, staff and lake dwellers.  On outings, campers will always be courteous to shopkeepers, other trippers, fisherman and any others.

Campers will not bully their cabin mates, their section mates or any other member of the TSC community.

Pranks, no matter how seemingly harmless, can cause hurt feelings and retaliation.  Therefore, campers must not engage in any activities that deliberately upset, harass or embarrass others.

Campers will respect the property of others, including camp property, public property and the property of other campers and staff members.  Theft, no matter how petty, will not be tolerated.

Campers will not enter other cabins unless they have been invited by a member of that cabin.  Campers will not raid the cabins of others in their section or other sections

They will not vandalize cabins by writing their names on the walls, breaking glass, setting fires or damaging them in any way.  At activities, campers will treat the equipment with the utmost care.

Open flames, including candles, matches, gas lanterns, stoves and incense are not permitted in cabins.

Getting a good night’s sleep is an important element of a healthy lifestyle.  After evening activity, campers will remain in their own cabins.  Campers are not permitted to leave Ahmek/Wapomeo at night unless under direct staff supervision.

To ensure a safe environment, camper must respect the rules and regulations put forth by each individual activity head.  Lifejackets must be worn at all times in all watercraft.

The Taylor Statten Camps promote a healthy lifestyle.  Campers will not smoke cigarettes or use any other tobacco products while at camp or on canoe trip.

The possession and/or use of alcohol or drugs and/or drug paraphenalia is not tolerated at the Taylor Statten Camps.

Algonquin Park and other wilderness areas used by the camp are important natural reserves.  Campers should strive to protect and preserve the environment while at camp and on canoe trip.
