Ahmek Camper Sections
Explorer Section (ages 7 to 10 two weekers, ages 7 to 8 monthers)
*Starting the summer of 2007, the name of the youngest section in camp will be changed from the Bantam Section to the Explorer Section. The Explorer section will be comprised of campers 7-10 who are enrolled for the 2 week sessions. Any campers aged 7 and 8 who enroll for a month session will take part in two 2 week sessions. Campers aged 9 and 10 who stay for a month will now be placed in the Pioneer Section.
Algonquin Park canoe trips are 1 night in length for our 2 week campers. Those in the month session will go on 2 overnights during their stay.
Pioneer Section (ages 9 to 11)
Algonquin Park canoe trips are 5 days in length.
Mountaineer Section (ages 11 to 13)
Algonquin Park canoe trips are 7 days in length.
Voyageur Section (ages 13 and 14)
Algonquin Park canoe trips are 9 days in length.
Senior Section (ages 15 and 16)
Algonquin Park canoe trips are 10 days in length.
Please Note: Ages within sections may vary depending on a camper's date of birth, school grade and camp enrollment patterns. Cabin groupings may have a cross-section of ages (1-2 years difference). All section and cabin groupings are subject to change at the discretion of The Taylor Statten Camp Directors. Feel free to let us know of any special requests and/or expectations that will help us in our cabin grouping process by filling out our blue camper personal form which will be provided with your campers' confirmation of registration.
