Job description:

Counsellors In Training (C.I.T.’s) must be 17 years old by the end of the calendar year.  C.I.T.s must be keen to learn the art of being a camp counsellor, guide, and/or an activity head.  Cabin C.I.T.s shadow a counsellor and are assigned to a cabin group.  You’ll be working with campers between the ages of 7 and 12.  C.I.T.s with an interest in a particular program may spend a month shadowing the Activity Head of their choice.  C.I.T.s at both camps also have the opportunity to help lead canoe trips.  Paddling and canoeing tripping experience is an asset.  A current Bronze Cross is required for this position as well as Emergency First Aid and CPR. C.I.Ts will the opportunity to take a Wilderness First Aid course during pre-camp if desired.

We also require two reference forms to be filled out by employers, teachers or similar references.

CIT spend the full two months at camp and earn an honorarium of $250. All positions include room, board, laundry and use of facilities.

Location: The Taylor Statten Camps, Canoe Lake, Algonquin Park, Ontario.

Dates: From June 24th, 2012 to August 24th, 2012 inclusive.
