Job description:
The Head Guide is responsible for co-ordinating all canoe trips run through TSC. Wapomeo Head Guide takes care of Wapomeo trips and the Ahmek Head Guide takes care of Ahmek trips. This includes ensuring appropriate guide training, helping guides organize their trips, making sure that routes, food, and transportation are in order, and debriefing each trip. A current Bronze Cross, WFA and Pleasure Craft Operator’s License are required for this position. Applicants must be extremely organized, have excellent time-management skills, enjoy multi-tasking and have a lot of initiative. A deep care for the natural world and the environment is a must.
We currently have two (2) openings for Head Guides.
Compensation varies depending on the position and experience. All positions include room, board, laundry and use of facilities.
We also require two reference forms to be filled out by employers, teachers or similar references.
Location: The Taylor Statten Camps, Canoe Lake, Algonquin Park, Ontario.
Dates: From June 17th, 2012 to August 24th, 2012 inclusive.
