Outpost Trips
Similiar to our canoe trips through Algonquin Provincial Park, campers travel in cabin groups with their counsellor and one or two other staff members. Outpost trips will vary in length, depending on the age and interests of the campers.
While the major portion of their time will be spent on trip, each of the Outpost canoe tripping programs will allow the campers to spend a few days at “the Outpost”. Campers use this time to prepare for their trip and enjoy the camp crafts and group oriented activities provided by our staff. The Outpost is supervised by a Director and his/her staff members who are qualified to offer leadership in the areas of outdoor living and canoe tripping. Time spent at the Outpost site is limited to some “fine dining” and canoe trip chatter.
The Outpost contains a warm and inviting main lodge – a great end point when returning from a canoe trip – as well as log cabins, frame tents, an extensive map room and even a sauna! Although the dates for the boys’ and girls’ programs coincide, the canoe trips are not co-educational.

When our groups head out for longer special trips to the Temagami area – places like Biscotasing, Algoma and Kipawa (areas of Ontario and Quebec), our Outpost site serves as base camp. The uniqueness of the Outpost is immediately understood when campers find that they must approach it only by water, as it is inaccessible by road.
