The Taylor Statten Camps are looking for a qualified General Counsellors to lead camper cabin groups this summer. Counsellors are responsible for leading & supervising a cabin group of 6 to 7 campers over the course of the summer. Counsellors abilities should include strong leadership skills, experience working with children and a love of the outdoors. The campers range from age 7 to 16.
Counsellors must have a Life Saving Society Bronze Cross swim certificate or a Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate or be willing to get one. Canoeing experience is an asset.
We currently have twenty (20) openings for General Counsellors – Male (all boys camp) .
Compensation varies depending on the position and experience. All positions include room, board, laundry and use of facilities.

The Taylor Statten Camps are looking for a qualified Canoe Trip Guides to lead canoe trips this summer. Guides are responsible for leading 4 to 6 trips over the course of the summer. Trips range in length from 4 to 12 days. The Guides abilities should include wilderness skills, strong paddling skills and strong leadership skills. The trip participants range from age 7 to 16.

The Taylor Statten Camps are willing to pay to certify qualified staff. We will cover one half of the course costs for Level I & Level II depending on the position.

Nightwatch Person

The Taylor Statten Camps are looking for qualified Nightwatch Persons. The Nightwatch is responsible for ensuring the safety of the camps during the evening hours (Midnight to 8am). Duties include patrolling the camp, checking on campers and some basic cleaning. The campers range in age from 7 to 16. We are looking for applicants who are trustworthy and honest. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a unique setting.
We currently have two (2) openings for our Nightwatch person.
Compensation is based on 8 hours a day, 6 days a week at minimum wage. There is an honorarium for our training week. The nightwatch positions include room, board, laundry and use of facilities.

Weaving Instructor

The Instructor is responsible for leading 2 sessions a day on Weaving on group in the morning and one group in the afternoon. The program should cover a variety of weaving skills and activities. The weaving program was started in the 1920’s at Camp Wapomeo for girls and has continued since then. Camp Wapomeo has three larger floor looms and two smaller floor looms. We do have a variety of other equipment which has been donated over the years. The programs make up is determined by the instructor in regards of what to teach and how to teach.
