Canoe Lake Update
Wow! We cannot believe we are already in our August session. July was amazing, with incredible weather and lots of laughter. We hope to see all our July campers back on Canoe Lake next summer.
On Saturday July 30th, we welcomed to Canoe Lake our August, and August 15 day campers. It was so good to see new and familiar faces as our campers arrived at the Portage Store. So far this session, campers have done their swim test, eaten awesome camp food, and dove straight into activities. Campers have been spending a lot of time at the waterfront, cooling off from the summer heat on paddle boards, in kayaks, in the pool, on the slide and in canoes!
Our Kipawa, LIT, Barron River, Temagami and Ojib/Voyageur Park trips left early this week, and our Shawnee, Mountaineer, Tuscie and Pioneer 2 weeker trips will leave in the next few days. We are really hoping the weather stays as beautiful as it has for their trips!
Today (Thursday August 4th) is an exciting day because it is BIG EVENT! We have a carnival going on in the ball diamond, with a bouncy castle, snow cones, fortune telling, mini putt and more. The best part is you can use prize tickets to pie your counsellor, CIT, or section director in the face – score! Check out our gallery page for photos.
On August 12th, our Quetico trips will return after 36 days in the Canadian wilderness. After completing the Grand Portage (14km!), our trippers will head to Thunder Bay Airport and jet set back to Toronto. We cannot wait to see them and hear all their incredible stories.
