What an incredible month here at The Taylor Statten Camps. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the July sessions.
This month was filled with canoe trips, awesome in camp activities, good food and great friendships. July 2018 was definitely one for the books, thank you to everyone who made it so enjoyable. We can’t wait to see what August has in store.
Before we say farewell to our amazing July campers, we wanted to take some time to reflect on the last 4 weeks…
We a had a total of 8 Kipawa canoe trips traveling the beautiful Northern Quebec region. Each trip enjoyed 22 days full of adventure with the added plus of great weather. We are so proud of our Kipawa trippers and their accomplishments. Not everyone can do what you do! We can’t wait for your next adventure with TSC.
We had many cabin groups tripping through Algonquin Park as well. Exploring this beautiful region never fails to leave it’s visitors with the desire to explore more. Every trip had their own special adventure and returned back to camp with smiling faces and great stories to take home with them. As campers say goodbye to their favourite summer home, we know they will be back!
The Killarney canoe trips also returned with incredible stories and smiling faces after discovering the beautiful clear blue lakes, gorgeous scenery and amazing hiking trails the Killarney area has to offer. We are delighted that the cabins enjoyed their canoe trip adventure and know they will be counting down the days until their next one.
The Ahmek Barron River trips became portaging experts and were totally astonished by the beauty of the Barron Canyon. The trips returned stronger and with a deep passion for canoe trip. Although the boys are sad to wait until next year for another adventure, they have some happy memories to take home with them!
Our first Temagami trips went out, enjoying everything that the region has to offer while our second Temagami trips experienced a necessary change in region. Despite this switch, our trips kept their heads high and tripped hard throughout the Kipawa region. Both versions of the trip were a success!
Our programmed activities had a great kick off to summer with eager campers excited to jump right in. As campers participated in new activities, reached their goals and let their skills grow, days were full! Some favourites from the July session included the brand new Dance program, our classic High Ropes and Archery programs and of course, horse back riding!
The month came to an end with extremely lively final banquets. The TSC July final banquets included plenty of yummy food, fun and games and two great themes! Ahmek was decked out in sports attire for their sports league themed evening while Wapomeo had an extra magical feel to it when the dining hall was transformed into the wizarding world of Harry Potter.
The final evening of camp for the session is always a special one. As Wapomeo and Ahmek have their own way of celebrating, Canoe Lake was echoing with TSC spirit. Wapomeo had a beautiful evening at ‘candle lighting’. Each cabin performs a song together and makes a cabin wish, looking back on their times they had at Wapomeo together. Ahmek spends their evening at ‘Ahmek A’ where campers and staff display their musical talent and canoe soloing skills.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the sunny shores this month! See you next year.
